Kayıp halk Çingenelerin Türk sinemasında temsili: Gönül (2022) filmi analizi

Gypsies, a community that has not reached definitive conclusions about their history, continue their lives all over the world. These people, who are evaluated with different names in the lands they live in around the world, continue their lives with similar difficulties despite being in different geographies. These lives of Gypsies have also been the subject of cinema and represented by stereotypical narratives. The representation of Gypsies in Turkish cinema has also found a place within the framework of these stereotypical narratives. This study aims to analyze the representation of the branch of Gypsies living in Anatolia and defined as Dom in Turkish cinema through the film Gönül (2022). For this purpose, qualitative content analysis method was used in the study. As a result of the study, it is seen that the movie focuses on the life of Dom by avoiding certain stereotypes, but stereotypical situations are also repeated.

Geçmişleri hakkında kesin sonuçlara varılamamış bir topluluk olan Çingeneler, dünyanın dört bir yanında yaşamlarını sürdürmektedir. Dünya üzerinde yaşadıkları topraklarda farklı isimlerle değerlendirilen bu halk, farklı coğrafyada olmalarına rağmen benzer zorluklarla hayatlarını devam ettirirler. Çingenelerin yaşadıkları bu hayatlar sinemanın da konusu olmuş ve Çingeneler kalıplaşmış anlatılarla temsil edilmiştir. Çingenelerin Türk sinemasında temsili de bu basmakalıp anlatılar çerçevesinde yer bulmuştur. Bu çalışma, Çingenelerin Anadolu’da yaşayan ve Dom olarak tanımlanan kolunun Türk sinemasında temsilini Gönül (2022) filmi üzerinden analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada nitel içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda filmin belli başlı stereotiplerden kaçarak Domların hayatına eğildiği ancak basmakalıp durumların da tekrar edildiği görülmüştür.
