Öz

Bu çalışma, küresel ısınma ve iklim değişikliğinin yol açtığı çevresel yıkıma karşı sanatsal bir anlatı üzerinden farkındalık yaratmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, çevresel felaketlerin etkilerini görünür kılmak ve izleyiciyi bu kriz üzerine eleştirel düşünmeye teşvik etmek hedeflenmektedir. Araştırma yöntemi olarak nitel yaklaşımın benimsendiği bu çalışmada; betimsel bir perspektifle Japon çiçek düzenleme sanatı ikebananın sembolik anlamları ele alınmaktadır. Bu kavramsal çerçeve üzerinden iklim krizinin etkilerini görünür kılan sanatsal çalışmalar üretilmiştir. Böylelikle ikebananın anlatımı; kavramsal fotoğraf, seramik form, enstalasyon ve video sanatıyla bir araya getirilerek Çiçeklere Övgü; ‘Yaşayan’ Yeryüzü adlı disiplinlerarası bir sergi ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Sergide, ikebananın shōka stiline özgü üç ana dal prensibi iklim krizinin mekânsal ve varoluşsal boyutlarını temsil eden bir anlatı çerçevesi olarak kullanılmıştır. Çanakkale’de gerçekleşen orman yangınları, kuraklık ve ekolojik tahribat gibi iklim krizinin doğrudan etkileriyle yüzleşilen alanlarda üretilen sanatsal çalışmalar hem görsel hem kavramsal düzeyde eleştirel bir manzara fotoğrafı sunmakta; sanatın yeni bir iletişim dili olarak nasıl işlevsel hale gelebileceğini göstermektedir.

Abstract

This study aims to raise awareness of the environmental destruction caused by global warming and climate change through artistic narrative. In this regard, the aim is to make the effects of environmental disasters visible and encourage the audience to think critically about this crisis. In this study, which adopts a qualitative approach as its research method, the symbolic meanings of the Japanese flower arrangement art of ikebana are examined from a descriptive perspective. Artistic works that make the effects of the climate crisis visible have been produced within this conceptual framework. Thus, the narrative of ikebana has been brought together with conceptual photography, ceramic forms, installation and video art to create an interdisciplinary exhibition titled Ode to Flowers; ‘Living’ Earth. In the exhibition, the three main principles of the shōka style of ikebana are used as a narrative framework representing the spatial and existential dimensions of the climate crisis. Artistic works produced in areas directly affected by the climate crisis, such as forest fires, drought, and ecological destruction in Çanakkale, offer a critical visual and conceptual landscape, demonstrating how art can function as a new language of communication.
