Bio
Said Chuanyi LEI, an artist and art historian based in Istanbul. He graduated from the Archaeology & Museology School of Peking University (BA in history).
Now he is a doctorate candidate in Traditional Turkish Art at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University, specializing in Ottoman painting and Islamic art history; invited lecturer of Confucius Institute at Istanbul Okan University, and Yeditepe University; visiting research fellow of the Intercultural Communication Research Centre of Hebei University.
He is a member of Türkiye TABULARASA Transnational Art Consultative Committee, Traditional Turkish Arts Association (UNESCO accredited), China Minority Art Promotion Association, and Beijing Gongbi Painting (Hue Art) Association.
He has held cat-topic solo exhibitions, invited to group exhibitions, and biennales. He also gives seminars & workshops around the world. The translated book “Ottoman Painting” 1st Chinese edition will be published soon.
