In social sciences, the backbone of qualitative scientific research is generally gathering data from more than one data source. The nature of the data collected in qualitative research; It is very important in analyzing and reporting the data, exploring the main phenomenon in depth and increasing the quality of the study. This educational guide will assist you with the general knowledge and skills required in designing and managing the data collection process for qualitative research. Data collection is a set of interrelated activities aimed at gathering quality information to answer research problems. However, as the activities in the qualitative research process are not linear and sequential, data collection and data analysis are intertwined. The qualitative data collection process is carried out as a cycle consisting of determining the place / participants, ensuring access and creating harmony, purposeful sampling, data collection, data recording, solving field problems and storing data (Creswell, 2013, p.145); Deciding on the type of data to be collected requires developing data collection forms and managing the process in an ethical manner (Creswell, 2012, p.264). The aim of this study is to determine the conceptual and technical knowledge, attitude knowledge and application opportunities that scientists who perform the task of producing scientific publications should have, and to provide a training guide that shows how to manage the data collection process by complying with the scientific steps of qualitative data collection stages in this process. In this context, the sub-problems of the study are:
1. How should multiple methods and techniques to be used in the process of collecting qualitative data be determined?
2. How should the purposeful sampling approach be determined in accordance with the selection of the participants and research sites?
3. How should valid and reliable qualitative data be collected using different strategies?
